Test Results
When you attend for a test of any kind you should be told how long you should expect to wait for the results. Most results will be sent to your doctor for review and you will be contacted by the surgery to either come in for an appointment or a discussion over the phone. Some results are now sent via message, if you have consented to receiving information this way.
Our reception staff will pass on the Doctors comments on your results and help you arrange a follow up appointment if needed. Receptionists will not be able to discuss your results only give out the information authorised by the doctor or clinician as they are not clinically trained.

Please note that we do have a strict policy regarding confidentiality and data protection. In this respect we will only give out results to the person they relate to unless that person has given prior permission for their release or you are named as their carer or guardian on their medical record and their consent is recorded.
If you have attended a screening test that has not been arranged by your doctor and you have responded to an invitation sent via a national programme, the results may be returned directly to you, such as mammograms or bowel screening. Sexual health clinic testing is often a direct contact from the clinic
