The main route of appointment booking or GP Requests including sick notes and prescriptions are now via PATCHS or Patient Access
Pre-bookable appointment bookings are currently suspended due to pandemic, however all other services including ordering prescriptions and checking your medical records are currently active.
You can Now use the NHS App to request prescriptions, Get advice about COVID-19, Get Health Advice, view you health care record etc.
Simply Download the NHS App and create an account, fill in your relevant information including your NHS Number and sign-in.
THE NHS APP
Owned and run by the NHS, the NHS App is a simple and secure way to access a range of NHS services on your smartphone or tablet. The App is free and can be downloaded from the App Store.

Use the NHS App to:
Share your COVID-19 status – view and share proof of your COVID-19 status for travel.
Get advice about coronavirus – get information about coronavirus and find out what to do if you think you have it.
Order repeat prescriptions – see your available medicines, request a new repeat prescription and choose a pharmacy for your prescriptions to be sent to.
Get health advice – search trusted NHS information and advice on hundreds of conditions and treatments. You can also answer questions to get instant advice or medical help near you.
View your health record – securely access your GP health record, to see information like your allergies and your current and past medicines. If your GP has given you access to your detailed medical record, you can also see information like test results and details of your consultations.
Register your organ donation decision – choose to donate some or all of your organs and check your registered decision.
Find out how the NHS uses your data – choose if data from your health records is shared for research and planning.
HOW TO FIND YOUR NHS NUMBER?
You can Google – What is my NHS number? , Click on Find Your NHS Number – Use the “Start Now Button”. Boxes like the example below, will ask:
- Date of Birth and Postcode
- You will be shown the details and asked to confirm they are correct
- Follow any further instructions
- If all information matches you will be sent your NHS number

What if I have an emergency?

I don’t have access to the internet, can I still call my practice?
Of course, we understand that not everyone will be able to use PATCHS, so please call if you need appointments or advice
Can I go to a Pharmacy to ask about medications they sell or do I have to use Patchs?
Pharmacists are really knowledgeable about common illnesses and the treatments available over the counter, please do not hesitate to ask for advice at your local pharmacy
IS THE NHS APP THE SAME AS THE NHS TRACK AND TRACE?
No, this is to access information about your health, vaccine status, current medication.
The Track and Trace App is for logging where you have visited so you can be contact if someone has tested positive for COVID-19 in the same location. It will give you advice on what to do next.
CAN I HAVE BOTH NHS AND TRACK AND TRACE APPS?
Yes, you can download both Apps they do different functions.
WILL MY COVID-19 VACCINES SHOW IN THE NHS APP?
Yes, when you have a vaccine for COVID-19 your app will update with the information after each dose. (please allow up to 3 working days for this to show in the App)
